Activities and discussions help participants identify barriers to trust and explore personalized strategies for fostering openness and honesty in their workplace relationships. By the end, each participant selects a trust-building habit to work on.

Awareness of what makes trust difficult and how to overcome barriers.
Personalized strategies for fostering vulnerability-based trust in workplace relationships.
A selected habit to develop trust-building behaviors.

Module 4: Achieving Commitment

From Debate to Decisions

Choosing Between the Personal Development and Team Development Packages
Both the Five Behaviors® Personal Development and Team Development packages are rooted in Patrick Lencioni’s The Five Dysfunctions of a Team model, but they serve different purposes and audiences. Understanding the unique focus and benefits of each package will help you determine the right choice for your group.

Choose the Personal Development Package If…
Your Group Includes Mixed Teams or Individuals
This program is designed for individuals who may not work on the same team. It focuses on enhancing each participant’s understanding of how they contribute to team success, regardless of their current work environment.
You’re Introducing the Five Behaviors Model for the First Time
This is an excellent starting point for organizations that want to expose a broader audience to the concepts without requiring a specific team dynamic.
Your Group Size is Large
Unlike the Team Development package, the Personal Development package works well with larger groups. It emphasizes individual reflection rather than intensive, interactive teamwork.
Your Goal is Individual Growth
This workshop focuses on helping participants understand their own strengths and areas for improvement as teammates, which can be valuable for personal development and self-awareness.
You Need a Shorter Time Commitment
With a half-day format, this package is ideal for organizations with time constraints or those looking for a high-impact introductory program.

Choose the Team Development Package If…
You’re Working with an Intact Team
This package is designed for teams that work together regularly and want to deepen their collaboration, trust, and effectiveness as a unit.
You Want a Deep Dive into Team Dynamics
Team Development focuses heavily on group interaction, exploring how the team’s collective behavior aligns with (or doesn’t align with) the Five Behaviors model.
Your Goal is Long-Term Team Transformation
This program unfolds over multiple sessions, allowing for sustained growth and the opportunity to address real-world challenges as they arise.
You’re Looking for a Highly Interactive Format
Team Development workshops include hands-on activities, discussions, and exercises specifically tailored to strengthen the relationships and processes within a single team.
You Want to Address Specific Team Challenges
If your team struggles with trust, conflict, or accountability, this package provides the tools and framework to address these issues head-on in a safe, guided environment.
When to Use Both Packages Together
For organizations aiming for both individual and team growth, consider starting with the Personal Development package to introduce the model and foster personal insights.
Follow it with the Team Development package for intact teams to build on this foundation and achieve a more profound transformation. This sequential approach allows participants to internalize the concepts individually before applying them collaboratively.
